Can plastic jerry cans be used for chemicals?
Suitability depends on the exact liquid, concentration, temperature, contact duration, container resin and closure or gasket. Check the supplier’s compatibility information before filling the container. For dangerous goods transportation, also confirm that the current UN certificate and test report cover the intended contents.
Can these plastic jerry cans be used for petrol?
For portable petrol storage in the UK, plastic containers must meet specific construction, capacity and marking requirements, including a maximum nominal capacity of 10 litres. Dangerous goods carriage is a separate use case and requires an approved packaging configuration for the intended contents.
What is the difference between DIN51, DIN61 and DIN71?
These identify different neck and closure systems. Match caps, taps, spanners and pumps to the exact neck finish and product SKU; container capacity alone does not establish compatibility. Sometimes a DIN51 may, for example, be referred to a 50mm or 51mm opening. Therefore, generally speaking, a 50mm, 51mm, and DIN51 are all one and the same.
